On combating ableism

I am adding "Remove as much ableist terms from my lexicon as I can." to my 2020 resolution.

re: On combating ableism (Slur mention)

I urge people to include this in their resolutions as well.

It's good for you, as it will make you think about why you would want to use those terms, and then grow to use those reasons to describe things that you used to describe with ableist terms.

For example, when someone is saying something very obviously wrong, you'd say that they're being ignorant. Or when someone is having a bit of fun and acting silly, you'd say that they're being facetious, or taking the piss.

Both of these cases can replace the usage of the word "stupid" a lot of the time.

@FreyaManibrandr I've been trying to use "absurd" in moments I assume I could go to ableist language. Or just "what the fuck?!" But that's a ymmv one.
