CW Meta
I find it especially interesting that we were raised in a culture that normalized content warnings in the form of things like the ESRB or the PEGI ratings system, and yet mock and demonize leftist spaces for doing content warnings too. Maybe it's because the way we do it encourages people to think of other folks who might be harmed in unforseen ways, and you can't have that in "normal" society because there's no money in it?
What this mockery really is is white colonialism manifesting in the form of neurotypical chauvinism.
IDK, just do content warnings, it's healthy for your soul and healthy for the community.

Your message will get further with a CW. By not CWing your politics etc., you're preventing people from boosting them, because people can't always deal with difficult subjects Right Now. Saying 'I don't CW this/that' gives the impression that you don't care about spreading your message in a meaningful way, you just want to force the closest people to look at it, whether that helps or hurts.
It takes a lot of us awhile to absorb this, but please, try to accept it.
please boost.

Want to know why we are making an alternative to mastodon ?
Here is what we have in mind https://parast.at
Once more for the people in the back:
Put content warnings on your politics posts. I come to Mastodon specifically to avoid the horrible things in the news.
I don't care how urgently you want me to see it. In fact, adding a content warning will make me *more* likely to care, because it will give me time to brace myself.
re: contrapoints
also this whole "lefttube" thing people are trying to construct doesn't help either

I've never played Pokemon Swsh and I probably never will but I love all Scorbunnies as they fall under two categories I will always love.

Can I, should I, as someone who isn’t an US Citizen, who never set foot on American soil, donate to Bernie Sanders’ campaign?
Sick of the US’ worldwide influence and the outside world’s powerlessness to it
Late night Ranma 1/2 thoughts
You know, as a closeted trans girl growing up, I couldn't help envying Ranma for having a curse that changed him between a "male" and "female" body. Being able to magically change to a "female" form would have been a dream come true for me.
But not for Ranma. Ranma never stops identifying as male, and his main goal throughout the story is to cure himself. So really, in retrospect, it's more like a story of a trans man trying to get the body he's comfortable with.
Late night Ranma 1/2 thoughts
Ranma was an important manga for me in those days, but I think the fanbase gave me a few wrong ideas. It was normal for fans to refer to Ranma as a "he" in his normal form, but a "she" in his cursed form...and that ain't how pronouns work.
Late night Ranma 1/2 thoughts
Keeping in mind that Japanese pronouns work the opposite to English ones (you gender yourself, rather than other people gendering you) and that Ranma always uses masculine speech, it's pretty obvious that he should always be referred to as "he".
Even without that reasoning, it's just common sense.

any system of governance and organization that profits or encourages war MUST BE ENTIRELY DISMANTLED. No war but class war.

"act of war" is putting it lightly. fuck US imperialism, fuck it so hard. it's all so damn pointless, so completely pointless

trump is just doing this to try and win an election and it is one of the reasons exactly why democracy, and furthermore the idea of the nationstate itself, is completely flawed
