@anthracite Miiiiight be worth bribing an employee to borrow a phone charger and a power outlet
One of my favourite tower defence games is A: on Steam (eee) and B: super-cheap for the Steam sale. https://store.steampowered.com/app/298360/Immortal_Defense/
@Jacel @salameleon I looked but couldn’t find that section. I knew it should be there somewhere...
@luciferMysticus The best part about this is the knowledge that because I have an entire archived snapshot of WIkipedia on my various mobile devices because I had the space and I like the idea of having a usable encyclopedia without a cell signal, that I have been carrying around a copy of this important article with me everywhere I go for the last several months now
@salameleon I’m still trying to figure out what is really the right lane partner. Limited means of dealing with magical damage and limited damage potential before level 6 are her obvious issues, and a dual lane with an Underlord doesn’t really help either issue - it’s good against a heavy physical damage lineup, but probably not a great primary plan. Something with more direct lane impact and a disable is probably called for. Maybe Wraith King again? Semi-core Vengeful Spirit?
@salameleon Enchantress/Underlord could be an interesting offlane to play and a horrible one to play against. Unfortunately, both heroes benefit from farm; Enchantress can carry with it, Underlord is very weak without at least Arcane Boots + Crimson Guard or Vlad’s. They complement each other otherwise, though.
@Gargron the disgusting new heights of the advertising partnership between Oracle and Taco Bell
@salameleon Practice Enchantress and plan builds and think about what you would want me to play in lane concurrently? >..>
Tech, elitism (-)
@teradyne@dragon.style I work for a software development team that goes out of its way to keep supporting Windows Vista. We may drop it soon, but unlike XP, there isn’t enough “missing” from Vista to make it worth not supporting. Generally people want software that does its thing and gets out of the way, and Linux is notoriously terrible at this; hand-editing config files, or even manually configuring things, is not what the user wants to be spending time on.
@luciferMysticus bassoons are now the official musical instrument of pride parades
Studying chess makes me feel cognitively healthier in every way, with the possible exception of my sleep schedule. I don’t know if I have cause and effect reversed - maybe I can only do it when I’m feeling okay - but I feel like it builds the habit of stopping and thinking when I feel confused or overwhelmed, a position chess puts me in frequently. Calculating approaches to a complex position is good memory training, as well as teaching me that I am not powerless whenever things look difficult.
