@Envolvaire @ceralor I have a basket on a shelf just for SD cards and flash drives of various sizes, and loose ones I find around the house make their way there. It’s important to have a spot to just collect them, they’re easy to just lose. Amazing how easy it is to misplace a full set of encyclopedias plus hundreds of albums and a season or two of TV these days

I am still working on accepting that people around me genuinely don’t mind that sometimes/often I would rather be a betentacled rubbery lizard sex beast, and the support of people around me helps. ❤️

I will keep learning to express my various Unorthodox Interests. It takes some amount of practice.

I don’t want videos, but I want interactive textbooks formatted for the smartphone. I specifically want linear algebra in such a format but I’d be happy to see it catch on generally.

It’s fun to hear passers-by who have no idea what’s going on. “Wait, are those robots fighting?” “I think it’s a video.” *BANG* “whoa, wait, that’s live?”

Small children are being used to pick up pieces of robots. This is great.

Meanwhile over the PA system, a team is begging for spare parts because they burned out all their motor controllers

Apparently there is a robotic combat tournament in the Seattle Center Armory this weekend. Anyone else I know going to be watching? (Free admission, already started, I’m about to hop on a bus and go- it runs until 5PM tonight and 4PM tomorrow)

I wish there was some kind of cross-compatibility between Mastodon and dreamwidth.org. Not that I looked very hard, maybe they implemented ActivityPub while I wasn’t looking

Oops. It turns out I never sent all the right paperwork to my tax preparer, which would explain the discrepancy. Not going to bring this one to them after all, it's my error. At least IRS interest is not really all that bad.

The IRS says I underpaid badly last year by failing to report capital gains. I sent all the paperwork to my tax preparer specifically so I wouldn’t have to handle the capital gains calculation myself, dammit. I probably owe this but I’m going to try to get a refund out of my tax preparer and at least ask for the interest the IRS is charging.

Ran across some of my old porn folders, dating back to when I was in college. There's an awful lot of stuff that I don't think I really had as much interest in at the time as I thought I did, but I thought I was sort of supposed to. My porn folders became progressively less heterosexual as the years passed, which directly tracks the reduction in my homophobia. I was extremely socially conservative when I entered college.

Things change. I still haven't shaken off the past enough, though
