I don't know if that's good or bad. It sure looks really out of place next to all the heartfelt semi-autobiographical stories of gender affirmation that make up the bulk of the book; it'll be interesting to see if any reviews of the book mention it.
I just... don't want to make my work directly about my transition. Or directly about me. Ever. I find myself boring and mundane, and would much rather tell stories about cool imaginary worlds. I've got precisely one story in me About The Transition, and it's only about that on a metaphorical level. And it's on hold for Parallax. But I often feel like there's this *obligation* hanging over Queer Creators to do work that is About Their Queerness! and I just *don't* want to.
Ah well. Back to working on Parallax; back to trying to overcome my reflexive fear of diving back into wrangling another damn Kickstarter for the second edition of the Silicon Dawn after the giant mess that was the last Rita kickstarter.
