do not use violence to protect your assets, property, opinions. leave those at the door instead.

software licenses that prevent the former tend to allow (or even take advantage of) the latter.

(you need to take advantage of the latter to even be able to *have* a "software license".)

violence isn't good. but that doesn't mean it's unimportant.

it may be something to be avoided, but not necessarily "at all costs".

the world isn't black-and-white and you can't force others to play by your rules. (sometimes you can't even force them to play by *their own* rules.)
