usb-c in its current form is kind of a nightmare for non tech-savvy users tbh. hell, even for tech-savvy users.

first of all: power. what the fuck.

scenario: my phone uses the same power plug as my notebook (usb-c)

the logical conclusion would be that the two are interchangeable, right? no! my phone uses qualcomm quickcharge while my notebook uses pd! well, at least i can probably charge my phone quickly with my notebook's power brick right? no! because pd and qc aren't compatible at all!

ok so i got a new phone that does usb-c pd and a usb-c powerbank to go along with it. let's just hook it up and- ok we're good to go. i set my alarm on my phone and go to bed.

the next morning, i wake up at 3pm because my fucking phone decided that it's a better idea to charge my powerbank instead of doing things the other way around!

fine. 6 hours late to my meeting. forgot my notebook. my phone has usb-c though so i can just use the hdmi dongle i bought for my laptop to do my presentation, right?

of course not! the usb-c port on my phone only does usb 2.0 and nothing else! makes sense, of course. it's not like the plugs look and behave exactly the same :thaenkin:
