@KitRedgrave Yeah it's a good podcast. Abby's local, too.
this podcast episode hit me at a particularly relevant time: https://theadhdmanual.com/2021/05/27/episode-25-thoughts-on-burnout/
I'm finally watching Star Wars IX, and it's not as bad as I was led to believe, but it also helps that I already knew all the spoilers.
Mostly I'm just amused by how so many of the characters are affecting a British accent, except for John Boyega who is going out of his way to not sound British at all.
@srol weird
anyway I assume that enough of my friends are shitty gamers that actually do have friend connections to someone at Penny Arcade Industries that there's an actual path of connection
@srol I do not have the FB app installed though, I only use it via the web (and I only check it about once a week)
re: Food, meat specifically
Update: I did, in fact, get a migraine from the hand sanitizer, and had to take a nap. Ugh. And now it's late o'clock and I don't have the time/energy to make a proper dinner so I guess I'm baking another frozen pizza.

Incidentally, I really like the online butcher and here’s a $25 off coupon for anyone who wants to try it (and it gives me a $25 credit too): https://www.crowdcow.com/l/ue9ty84r8na
Usually ingredient boxes are stupidly overpriced but crowdcow is actually quite reasonable. They’re a little more expensive than a typical grocery store but the quality is amazing and they have a lot of specialty stuff. Also some amazing sausage!
re: Food, meat specifically
Oh they also asked me to use hand sanitizer but the sanitizer they provided was ridiculously perfumey and I think I’m getting a migraine from it. So yay for that too.
re: Food, meat specifically
The chorizo tastes pretty good but it’s the really crumbly kind. It’d go good in burritos or pozole but not so good as breakfast sausage which is how I usually use it. And I feel like the grocery store stuff tastes better. So, no reason tos witch to the butcher just for that.
Their prices are also not great compared to the online butcher I’ve been using, and of course are more expensive than the grocery store.
So I guess this butcher is good if I need a specialty cut of meat in a hurry but I don’t see myself becoming a regular. Usually I also don’t buy specific cuts of meat, I just buy what the online butcher has on special that month to experiment with things to try.
And that MSG thing is really disappointing. :(
Food, meat specifically
Finally tried out my local butcher. I had a coupon for buy one pound of sausage get one free so I bought a pound of country style, a pound of Italian style, and half a pound of chorizo.
I’m frying up a little chorizo as well as some of the grocery store chorizo I usually get to compare it, but I’m disappointed to discover that the country style sausage has MSG in it. Probably not enough to give me a fibro reaction especially if I eat it in moderation, but it’s still disappointing to see it used. Oh well. At least it was free.
