oh yeah, it's #doctorwhoday! I've been a DW fan since I was... 11-ish? I think? maybe younger, but I know by the time I got into junior high school I was obsessed enough to make DW stuff in craft classes (I made a ceramic TARDIS and--something in a sewing class, maybe a pillow, with "I <3 DW" on it) and badger my parent into taking me to local conventions.
I still <3 DW, Moffat hasn't ruined it for me, though he did put me off it for a while. new female Doctor incoming! :D
@green So, who is your favorite doctor?
@Azure #5, Peter Davidson! he was my first, and I imprinted on him at a very early age. ;) I also like Tenant, probably because he derived his performance deliberately from Davidson. I like all of them that I've seen (and I've seen all of the existing shows, though some of them only once [or twice]), except for six, I cannot *stand* Colin Baker's Doctor or his screechy annoying companions. UGH.
@green Hmmmm! Now I wonder if you're older than I am. My favorite is seven for much the same reason. (That and I admire someone whose method of battle is getting his enemies to destroy themselves.)
Have you ever tried listening to any of the stuff from Big Finish Productions? Six is....really so much less bad when they give hi some decent writing, which they mostly didn't during the run of the TV show.
@Azure yeah, I've been told that wrt: six. his Doctor was very badly treated by the writers and producers, staring with that godawful coat. >___<
I am statistically speaking almost certainly older than you are (based on predominant online social media use), over halfway through my fourth decade. ;)
@green Ah, yes. I am only more than half way through my third decade.
@green …though honestly I liked the coat. Then again I just like brightly colored stuff an awful lot.
@Azure it kind of messes with my visual perception, it's difficult for me to watch sometimes, like loud static or something. I loved Tom Baker's scarf, though, and I've knitted a couple of versions of it, though I never got them more than six feet long. kinda makes me want to take up knitting again, so I can make another one! XD
I'm also infinitely amused that #doctorwhoday is the day before my own birthday. ^____^ (well the day and several years before, DW is almost a decade older than I am!)
