I think part of the reason I use Synth1 almost exclusively for all my music instead of some newer and more sophisticated plugins is because I'm a dumb dog and it has the maximum number of features I can hold in my brain at one time.

Having said that, I think one benefit of using limited tools like Synth1 is that it encourages you to think about the underlying mechanics of sound design rather than, say, pirating Serum and only using the stock presets because you don't know how to do anything else.


Also I want to be able to say I made the biggest dance hit of the summer on a potato.
