"Earlier that day,
In the courtrooms of Terra.
A planet far from Earth;
Yet closer than was known to any."
WHAT IS WRONG AND WHO DID THIS TO YOU?

"Maid Cafes?
Those were much like restaurants in western culture.
However, your waitress actually stays at your table.
You converse with them, play games, get to know them..."
THIS IS AN EXACT LINE FROM THE ACTUAL GAME. HOLY BLAP.

"Only given the concrete details last week" for a life-altering tour? An NDA for a publicity tour? This isn't a tour; it's a self-kidnapping.

Could someone please pick a tense and stick with it? I don't care which one. Just pick one.

We're at the first possible narrative split and we've decided this has to be the Furry 4Kids dub.

I'm going to watch @adeptomega play Major/Minor and critique the narrative as we go.

@ElectricKeet just made me spittake weedsmoke.
The Joke: welcome to Mastodon, here's your fursuit and your copy of Das Kapital
Reality: welcome to Mastodon, here's your six alt fursonas, a copy of the Anarchist's Cookbook, an eight-week course on the programming language of your choice, a tarot deck, some brand spanking new hormones, and a complex geometric sigil you should memorize that will turn into a neural counter-virus so that when the Singularity finally hits we can make sure The Straights don't claim it for themselves
Foodcrime
The creamed corn I made with the heirloom purple corn kernels turned faintly green, causing the rosemary flavor to make the dish taste vaguely medicinal. The GF cornbread stuffing that came of it, however, was fine.
This, however, stole the show: turkey roulade stuffed with bacon, mushroom, and spinach.
Fungouse Mirror
I've spent eighteen years in tech as some stripe of administrator or developer on deep systems making back-end code tell people when it's not healthy. I'm steeped in the metaphors of bad actors, poison pills, and best intentions. I see on a daily basis the negative impact of technologists failing to think through the consequences of their decisions because the market demands they move fast and break things.
More and more, I fear what this has done to my perspective.

... and the question wherein I attempted to ask what to do about high-rep community members posting rude answers was first answered with "flag them and let the moderators deal with it," then deleted with a side note of, "this is just a call-out post; I don't see anything objectionable happening there. He's irritable, but I don't see him being rude."

... and now it appears his most egregious examples of asshattery have been deleted, so my complaints now look hypersensitive. Fantastico.

TFW the suggestion the asshole made works, but only when it's done precisely the way he says do it, there's no clear reason beyond rote memorization of a pattern that this should be the way it works, and it's not worth it to you to memorize this shit because you have better things to do with your life than coopt more of your brain into the Technocratic paradigm.

This is why I hate engineers, and why I typically don't use Stack Overflow: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/47193383/sending-a-zero-length-https-put/
