Happy #Transgiving! Consider supporting a trans creator on our Transgiving list at github.com/Transgiving/Transgi - and if you're a trans creator (especially if you're a trans POC), add yourself to the list! <3

An affirmation for those of you headed home to doubters, skeptics, and concern trolls:
Your identity is not rooted in their belief, but in yours. Your identity is valid because you say it is. Whether you pass in your chosen life is immaterial to its truth. You are who and what you say you are. That you don't, and perhaps can't, embody your inner self is not evidence against its reality. I see you.

Today's food prep is... pretty normal, really: sweet potatoes for mashed smeets, and succotash.

The big thing is that the succotash will have more leeks from the garden in them, and the smeets will be honey-garlic sweet potatoes instead of those cloying marshmallow-covered things I can't get Keet to eat.

Here we go! Are you a trans creator who could use some support and exposure, or do you know one? Add your name to github.com/Transgiving/Transgi for #Transgiving 2017, where we provide a list of trans people you can support instead of or in addition to your Black Friday spending.

If you're familiar with Github, you can add yourself and submit a PR; otherwise, email us and we'll add you ASAP!

Please boost and spread the word!

Well, how about that.

Seems like while the baking powder and soda were off on their acid trip together, the shortening and eggs helped provide a nice steady platform on which the corn and our heroes, Creamèd Cörn, from the firm film, could produce a semi-homogeneous structure we like to call cornbread.

Stay tuned, folks. Well wrap up this tasty triptych tomorrow.

... but there's somebody in Studio A that can't get enough of the stuff. What happens when the baking powder and soda get hold of that acid is nothing short of amazing, so let's bring these two parties together, shall we? It only takes a few stirs to get these folks to mix it up, and too much more would waste some of their gas-making power, so let's just let them rest a bit after that and then hustle them to the hotbox for a bake together.

Back in Studio A, a quarter cup of vegetable shortening has joined the corn meal and gang. It's a good solid fat, slow to get where it's going, something to ensure the party has a steady rhythm to it. In Studio B, though, things just got interesting. Sure, that may look like two cups of milk, but one of them is smuggling in two tablespoons of lemon juice. That may not mean much to anyone here..

Meanwhile, in Studio B, it's our old friends from the first film, Creamèd Cörn. They're reprising their role and it looks like four eggs have joined them. Rich, well-beaten, and ready to bind whatever they meet.

In studio A, a rather unassuming affair: corn meal, baking powder, baking soda, and sugar. Let's give this a quick toss to distribute the fun.

Remember I said yesterday that we had some sequels in the works? Well, here's the first, and like most middle films trilogies, it's really there to set up the finale, but there's some important work to be done here on the way.

That's right. I said trilogies. Watch this space.

Two of three coatings prepped, but the butter needs more time to soften before I herb it up.

No, it's not going to be cannabutter, though I did make a medicated turkey breast last year. And yes, it tasted great 'cause I added sage and fennel to the butter, too.

Bandaza prep proceeds apace. The hardest physical-labor part of the cooking is done: two spatchcocks and a full debone. I got photos, but they're on @ElectricKeet's phone, and she's now on an errand. I'll post later, but these are gonna have to get heavily tagged. It's like Saw up in these.

You know this is Creamèd Cörn, right? That means cream! Sour cream in this case, and milk, about two-thirds of a cup each. That's just gonna pour over and get into everything these good folks have been up to, thicken right up, and get tasty.

And this is just the opening act, folks. We've got sequels planned.
