overhead tvs are a terrible idea and it boggles my mind that it seems to be a trend

i can understand a glanceable monitor above your main one / main row, but like, mounting an entire tv above your setup? that makes my neck hurt just thinking about it

@trwnh I always thought that you'd use it for gaming or watching something while leaning all the way back in your cool gaming chair… though I still agree it's a bad idea

@noiob that does seem to be the general idea yeah, but if you're gonna do that then like... at least tilt the tv downward???

@trwnh yeah if you don't do that I got nothing

can I add a personal pet peeve? curved (16:9) monitors. they only work for a single person who is always in a kinda specific spot. I'm pretty sure they only exist because they look weird/ cool. Ultrawides excluded because the curve makes sense there, but they also have a bigger radius so it's less annoying?

@noiob i think curved monitors are just a gimmick in general and only really make sense on those super ultrawides that are basically 2 monitors without the bezel in between. still a matter of taste though. sometimes i want a flat screen to avoid distortion
