like, damn, it's really true that the exclusive tying up of legal rights into the institution of marriage creates problems for polyamorous families, whether gay/trans or not, and the sorts of families that gay people form, even if they can get married (to a single person) now!
isn't it interesting how, if you take things like "the right to set people as your (next of) kin in the case of death and illness" that are exclusively granted by the state through marriage, and you instead make them rights that people can access on their own terms and set by themselves, that ends up benefiting poly people (queer or not) and queer people (poly or not)?
isn't it interesting how the economic (tax-based, for instance) incentives to form nuclear families of two adults & some number of children are a material, economic burden on queer people & poly people?
interesting, also, to note that multi-family, multi-generational, high-occupancy homes are more economically secure & efficient!
