as someone who is often afraid to open up her computer case for fear of frying something with static discharge, how hard is it to install a new internal drive? im thinking of upgrading. i imagine it's dead easy and i'm freaking out over nothing but allow me this
@typhlosion it's pretty simple, just screw it into an open bay and plug in SATA and power
@typhlosion as someone who specifically bought a prebuilt machine because they didnt trust themselves to not fuck up in building one themselves: it is piss easy
@typhlosion well to tell the complete truth i bought a prebuilt because i didnt want to deal with the intense stress that comes with building one myself but the distrust of myself was defo a deciding factor
@typhlosion ime the biggest gotcha is checking if your case needs extra screws to secure extra drives and if so making sure you have those screws. Outside of that, like others have said it's just a matter of plugging in two cables
@typhlosion All else said, for extra reassurance you will likely safely discharge yourself of static while unhooking your computer, because all you'll need is to touch a grounded metal casing on anything
@typhlosion at its simplest it's plugging in two cables -- one between the drive and motherboard, and one to the power supply
