i have this destiny 2 raid jacket. sometimes when i go out in it i wonder if anyone who doesn't know what it is misinterprets the little skull on the sleeve as a fascist symbol or something, especially given my general look - aggrieved-entitlement-lookin'-ass lanky white masc-presenting creature with glasses and resting surly face. am i worrying too much
@typhlosion i've never played destiny and i'm entirely unfamiliar with the symbol; i'm also pretty alert for fascist symbols. If we were in line at the grocery store together i would probably pull out my phone and try to search for it to see if it was anything. There are a lot of fairly meaningless skull symbols out there, i don't think i would immediately assume whoever was wearing it was a fascist
@typhlosion think you're good?
@dragonmagic whuh
oh this was a statement, i thought you were challenging me to pvp or something
@typhlosion aahh, my mistake 😅
@dragonmagic it's all good lmao i was just confused for a second
@typhlosion honestly it looks a little sketchy to me since you pointed it out, I'm not sure what I'd think or if I'd notice in person.
you could always just remove it and put a lefty/queer button there instead
@Resni it's not a button, it's attached to the sleeve in a way that's tough to remove without damaging it. im wondering if wearing my trans/pride/BLM/pronoun pins and buttons and stuff as countermessaging would help
@typhlosion you could always put a button overtop of it I guess
@typhlosion If I'm being completely honest, I'd probably wonder that myself if I saw that on a random person in public (but I'd recognize the Destiny logo itself at least)
But also there's an "Entire package" thing here where if you don't also look like an edgy white man it probably wouldn't connect together as "Fash"? I'm unsure.
Also-also "Wonder about it" is a far cry from "Presume this person is fashy" so it's probably fine?
