Did you know that Tide laundry detergent is being used as a black market currency for drug deals?

This of course benefits parent company Proctor & Gamble. The only official comment I could find was their marketing director regretting that this use caused an uptick in their product being stolen-- which they quickly spun into pride in the consistency of their product's market value.

@mawr WTF... how... why? I... don't understand this at all...

@wobblewuffess Tide has always had a consistent shelf price that has always increased over the years. It's a consumable product in a category that everyone needs in quantities large enough that buying a bunch doesn't generally look suspicious. Individual containers are currently completely untraceable.

Did you ever wonder why convenience stores frequently stock Tide and sell it at department store prices? Now you know.

@mawr I guess that makes a lot more sense now... everybody that owns clothes needs some.

@wobblewuffess @mawr Pretty much that, dealers are remarkably boring, practical people. Even the nuts ones are when doing business.
