@noelle also the argument "name a communist society that's actually worked" would probably carry a lot more weight if the US didn't stage a coup/assassinate someone/otherwise fuck with every society that's made any tentative steps in any direction other than capitalism

@troubleMoney @noelle the Shakers worked pretty well until they died out as a result of celibacy. And I find it fallacious to point to the USSR and yell “failed communism!” if you don’t also point to the PRC and say “successful communism.” (I don’t feel either were particularly communist.)

Kibbutzim.
Kibbutz life has never been easy and the biggest digression from communism is the introduction of a differing pay scale to most of them, yet in 2018, there are 270 kibbutzim existing long after the establishment of Israel - 230 of them are secular. I'd call that successful communism.
