To anyone thinking about joining BlueSky, especially artists: everything you post is sent to a third party for AI labeling.

BlueSky uses AI to label content for moderation, and to do that they use a company called thehive.ai. If you look through their privacy policy, you will see that they can use content sent to them to train models for all their services, which include generative AI for both text and images.

What are we doing with so much RAM? The same things as before, but with increasingly fancier webviews instead of native UI elements? Custom proprietary UI language that matches nothing in the system? An unified unblockable ad-viewing framework?

I wonder how some people who use light themes everywhere on their computers with factory-set brightness and don't get headaches.

I get headaches if I don't set a theme or use a plugin to generate dark themes for every site I visit.

I get headaches if I don't bring the brightness on my monitor down to zero percent.

How other people simply don't get it?

Thinking about my humansona.

For those of us who aren't human, I think it's a worthy goal to try to attain or at least approximate the appearance of the human body you'd wear if you were deliberately disguising yourself as a human via, I dunno, shapeshifting or illusion magic or whatever.

At the very least, consider what that would look like for the sake of the mental exercise. Suppose you could choose whatever you wanted so long as it passed for human among humans. What would you pick? Even if you weren't consistent, would there be some qualities you'd tend to go for, or quirks of your appearance you'd regularly apply?

If you have to be physically human, at least be a human on your own terms.

Dear web developers and admins,
please stop embedding Google's hideous #ReCaptcha into your websites. Its algorithm is faulty, forcing regular users to click dozens or even hundreds of fire hydrants, bicycles, or traffic lights each day. It puts a 'suspicious activity' flag on users who won't obey to Google's business model - such as people who don't sign into Chrome, use anonymity VPNs, or use browser extensions to suppress common tracking mechanisms. Enough is enough. Stop it.
