Open question time!
What's a mistake you made, even though by all rights you really did know better than to make it?
transphobia, homophobia
@starkatt say yes to my previous job, despite knowing it would involve me being locked in a room with 3 transphobic/homophobic people, and would make escaping another situation more difficult.
I ended up trapped in that job for 4 years
@starkatt I stayed with my first ex for three years after the first dream at which I was at his funeral pretending to grieve so people would stop asking me weird questions.
@starkatt I was really stupid, and chose the wrong major in college. Then there was a chance I could have fixed that a year or so later and I didn’t, I let my dislike for the people I’d have worked with at UM get in the way. These were dumb, DUMB mistakes, and I’ve been poor and scrambling ever since as a result.
@starkatt Every time I spend money for something that isn't survival. :-/
@starkatt that last relationship. I 100% knew better, but I talked myself into "taking a chance." the chance did not pay off. entirely avoidable, entirely my own fault. :\
Serious answer from me, from about a year ago: when I dropped out of the application process for the union electrician apprenticeship because I was feeling hurt and frustrated and didn't want to ask for any more time off of my job (which I quit like a month and a half later).
