Adonis is one of the most chill individuals I have met. I first came across his awesome fursuit dancing but there are so many layers to uncover.

@SyrusRayne @noelle Absolutely right in not being able to reason with these people. I dont think "reasoning with them" was at all what you were suggesting in the original toot. More or less, you are discussing how we might combat trollish/dramamongering from a different angle -- simply putting narrative out here on Mastodon that lets them see that such behavior isnt acceptable here and that linking to those sites to show "information" is worthless to them to bother.

@SyrusRayne @noelle Honestly, its hard to believe that people would actually consider sites like Lolcow and KF as "legitimate info". You only have to be on those places for 5 minutes to see the people on there with Way Too Much Time on Thier Hands and/or a Nasty Vendetta against select people they are dumping on.

@garrbage Thats a shame. I do think that Mastodon has alot of potential, including in regards to bad behavior actually getting handled. I dont feel like Twitter promotes that kind of environment and definitely lets too many hateful people get away with bad behavior.

Maybe you could try another mastodon instance, if you feel something is amiss with this one. Or, you could try reporting the people in question that are doing whatever bad to you and see if the moderators can help.

@SyrusRayne @noelle (3/3) Ironically, it is places like ED, KF, LolCow that would be the place where that kind of "outing" is done (from people deadnaming others, people outing their real name in context of their SW/porn name)...

I guess what Im getting at is that KF members can easily use a completely different email and persona to use Mastodon. Thats often how they get some of thier info.

@SyrusRayne @noelle lets say I am wanting to join Mastodon, under my more personal accounts (in this case, it would be this name here). Well... if someone figured out my SW identity and tied it to this one, than people may start concluding that Im trying to evade a ban (because many Mastodon instances restrict explicit sex related content due to how they federate with other instances). People could assume my consideration is actually ban evading.

@SyrusRayne @noelle and that may be a harder part to figure out. To use a self example: I am a SWer, but I use a seperate set of email addresses for any of my social media and selling platforms related to that. Some of that seperation is professionally necessary and some of it is out of consideration of the furry community (who highly stigmatizes SW)

Im defintely feeling like we have more than enough troll/harassing/doxxing encouraged sites out there.

Even if those sites were legitimately posting info on someone actually DANGEROUS to the community, no way you can pull that out of all the muck normally spewed there.

Need to find apathy. Everytime I see that faux Wild Gasmask on someone (or the guy's store), I just get mad. This is also why I do everything I can to not use Etsy. They are no fuckin help and hide behind legal speak that takes a long time to say absolutely nothing.

I am currently using three instances. Part of this is because I have many aspects of my life and some of it is nsfw. So, I need to make sure I restrict some of thise more risque things to certain instances.

@OrionKidder@mastodon.social I can't say whether you're supposed to do any of those things. I think that people coming to Mastodon are going to have to feel out different instances and see what works for them. Some instances are Federated to other instances, and some are not.

I played this game last fall but, with further missteps from the Birbsite, I think its time to let the #followtrain roll into the station again.

Gonna be communicating with a server today, instead of people. Lets see if I can be listened to and have a semi working new staging server by the end of day.

Today is a day where I am mostly free of my current freelance gig and might have time to get stuff done of my own today. However, I realize that a big chunk of research looms in 2 realms -- my family's business and going a bit off my typical path for an e-commerce copy writing gig.

These days, I feel researching and getting outside perspectives on things now that Im not tapped into collaborative environments and info flow.
