Uff. This time a hard drive transplant with my laptop isnt as easy. Somehow just flashing the dd disk image onto the new hard drive results in behavior that was different to the previous hard drive and the windows tool for image backup keeps failing without a consistent reason.

I think its better to just do an old-fashioned reinstall then..
