I was curious, so I counted... only about 40% of the video games I like from 1983 to 1994 (157 of 337) are commercially available on modern platforms today, including the 3DS.

It's weird how it's both true that one person can make a video game and that international megacorps can collaborate in ways to effectively turn huge ultra-games into successful returns on investment.

I don't think about this often but it is wild how much Tencent Games owns. One investment company owns:

* a majority of Riot (League of Legends), Supercell (Clash Royale), Grinding Gear Games (Path of Exile)
* a minority in: ActiBlizzard, Ubisoft, Epic (40%!), Paradox, Frontier Developments (Elite: Dangerous), and a lot of mobile game developers.
