@srol oh hey it just occurred to me: if you include board games too, Fog of Love is worth a mention. It’s like a story focused relationship simulation that plays out with two players, holding different pieces of information, answering multiple choice questions simultaneously to satisfy their own needs and mutual relationship goals.

@poss_bot Blue Album and Pinkerton are just magic. (In Pinkerton's case, maybe problematic magic that doesn't play so well with our modern conception of nerdom, but still) Then after a hiatus, they had some good singles that eventually led to crap like "Beverly Hills" and "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived"... and have continued in the 10 years since
re: weezer -
I guess I cannot adjust to the fact that they've been "new weezer" for much longer than they were "old weezer" now.
weezer -
Weezer put out out a covers album in the year of our lord 2019, and they cover No Scrubs, a song that absolutely does not resonate AT ALL with the current socioeconomic climate.
Also they're a bunch of white guys covering a song performed by a group of black women
AND BASTILLE DID IT 6 YEARS BEFORE THEM
for some reason, I just hate weezer 2008-on

Titanfall 2 has a "buddy romance" thing going on; not sure if it counts.
Wolfenstein: The New Order has a prominent romance, though it's focused mostly on the guy's perspective and definitely is not in the "romance" genre.
