Headlander, Gender Things
So Headlander is a metroidvania game where you explore and solve puzzles by attaching your flying head to different robots. There's a section where there's a ♂ doorway and a ♀ doorway, which raised an eyebrow, but the default is that BOTH doors give you a "gender not recognized error".
You are outside this binary by default and need to borrow the body of a citizen with a "gender chip" registered to unlock the doors

Bless all the Combo Breaker side tourneys of these cult fighting games. This is the stuff I live for. https://youtu.be/NcnNVUnVg5M
@Galuade@snouts.online Basically on levels where the exit is a linedef (like a box you step into instead of a switch you interact with), a dead player can slide into the exit and start the next level with a new game inventory. This is called a "death slide" or a "suicide exit".
Depending on the source port you're playing you might have also enabled a pistol start preference, or hit a function key bound to that action.
So I got this kangaroo game for free the other day. https://www.twitch.tv/commachameleon
@alexcat not a terrible idea...
re: Mutant Year Zero
it's a pretty solid piece of programming though, and it's not trying to exploit you or anything. This is definitely SOMEbody's perfect game.
Mutant Year Zero
Played this for about 3 hours and I'm gonna drop it because it's too hard for me.
Despite its appearance and marketing based on XCOM comparisons, this is really a game about stealth and scavenging first. You have to steal every advantage you can get if you want to survive this game's ultra-scarce economy. The structure isn't like an open-ended strategy campaign but more like an isometric PC RPG (fixed encounters that don't respawn, small maps littered with loot, a "fight this now or come back to fight it later" kind of progression)
Also it's only marginally furry tbh
