Correction to previous post: There is a staff relationship between Starbound and Terraria!

Finn Brice (Tiy) worked as one of the two graphic designers on Terraria, then became the Director of Starbound.

I’m pretty proud of the game spreadsheet I made. I think I want to print out a copy for archival.

And I'm trying to talk myself out of pursuing all the endings

Like, I do think there's a level of care put into the OS gimmick to earn this game its share of praise, but it's less intricate/replayable than other roguelikes. I guess I should put it more in the "crunchy casual game" bucket than "light dungeon crawl" bucket.

Do people generally find Kingsway pretty easy if they make it past the first couple XP levels? I thought maybe I got lucky once but this level 18 mage (on run 3) says maybe it's just a gentle game.

What would you nominate for 2018's best game of 2008?

I asked a child to sacrifice their life to maybe-save a world they aren't even a part of and I'm really jumping through some moral hurdles to try to justify that to myself

(I mean, within the fiction)

Like, being a hero is good, but can you always say the same about forcing other people to be a hero?

I was trying to type "Max Payne" and it came out as "Marx Payne"; I'd play that game ⚒️

Anyway, the positives are that the performances are great and it's important to remember that "well-adjusted adults who don't hold grudges against each other" aren't allowed to be shown in biopics accurately

Basically uhhhhh the first boyfriend is kinda framed as this decades-long corrupting influence on Mercury responsible for his solo albums and possibly medical problems and just a hedonistic villain instead of a complex individual the way his first wife is? I dunno.

So this movie was pretty entertaining, has lots of great music, and tells a pretty uplifting story... but there are lots of factual inaccuracies! Notably that the band didn't form that way, didn't break up *ever*, and the timeline of the aids diagnosis didn't relate to their Live Aid concert that way.

And it's a little... weird about Mercury's sexuality. Weird in ways that are tough to explain to people. :X
