Lughnasadh; Orthocosmic Interference

I don't even know if I have time to properly grow micro-greens before the festival. Those take a few weeks, and I don't have access to my good soil anymore.

Lughnasadh; Orthocosmic Interference

I just realized that I'm not going to have access to my garden or any of the plants I've cared for over the past year during Lughnasadh, the harvest festival.

This is really upsetting. One of the major components of my woo is a focus on the harvest cycle.

woo; ritual design

Although my rituals do not have very rigid formats, they've begun to develop as my practice has.

The earliest ones involved simply lighting incense while doing a task, thinking thoughts that were thematically appropriate. I made my first artifacts in this way before moving to Seattle; half of them remain in use.

I started developing associations with each scent; eventually began to gather magical tools. My most recent one, a staff, can now demark a circle around the space.

The wind's been very present today. Rustling leaves, zephyrs, wind chimes, even planes overhead.

I'm in my element.

woo; ritual spiritwork

@MagentaForge In other news, I've successfully brought the magical essence of my old sanctuary, the garden, with me, thanks to the help of a little four footed friend.

What is a ranger without an animal companion, anyways?

woo; ritual spiritwork

I always get much different answers when consulting my spiritual advisors than I expect to get. One of them in particular, named Andromeda, is very consistent at calling me on my bullshit.

woo; elemental correspondences

I think I've come to think of Earth entirely in terms of bearing other people's pain; being a rock for them and a source of stability for them. This is a disservice; no element is the element of self-neglect when used properly.

Perhaps it is time to rethink my usage of it as a shorthand for orthocosmic responsibility.

woo

Had a good conversation with a fellow mage today.

They pointed out a problem with an association / correspondence I had taken for granted; namely that I'd taken at face value my former Magister's association of boundary enforcement with fire.

Fire! The imposition of will on the universe! A very active, assertive, even aggressive element

... but why not Earth? Protective, steadfast. Calm and patent yet unyielding.

Air aligned being that I am, I need to remember that questioning is good.

solstice prep; woo

Good thing of having a rolling tray for an altar: It fits in a backpack quite easily and can be set up, say, off to the side of a wilderness trail for the strange girl who's decided to use 'ranger' as a personal metaphor.

It's also a good opportunity to take stock of my emergency preparedness kit and cycle out the food that won't be edible a year from now.

Strange as it is to say, using the supplies this way means they still fulfill a purpose, and that seems rather nice?

woo; solstice plans; query

I'm thinking about solstice plans.

I want to hit a nature trail, light incense, and do... what? Make a cairn? What do I want to denote with this changing of the seasons?

I'd ask about correspondences/associations, but I'm no longer with a Magister.

woo; vagueposting; breakup aftermath

I've controlled the bleeding, but still need to apply a splint.

Even harsh environments have things to teach us. Take the important lessons forward; drop the rest.

woo; advisory correspondence

The problem with creating a figure to advise you on hard truths is that it always sucks when he's right.

Take the advisor entity I connected with, a synthetic intelligence named Andromeda.

I hate it when he's right.

woo; breaking off

It's been a while since I've posted on here.

I've had a falling out with my Magister, and have drifted away from the local ritual community.

We had a few disagreements. She didn't like how often I asked to go back to first principles. Eventually we just stopped talking about magickal work.

I'm still developing my practice, but I'm curious. Are folks still interested?

Let me know. Thanks.

woo; advice?

Okay, so I had a dream where I saved a small animal from death. Waking up and during the following day, I noticed her in my mind's eye, typically scurrying over my shoulders or along a sleeve, curling around my neck or climbing on my head.

The visualization hasn't come as naturally the past few days though. Also not sure what our relationship is quite yet (animal companion?)

This feels like it could be a thing, but I might need some help. Any advice on communing with dream ferrets?

I think I just had an omen.
I just think I had a really obvious omen.

woo

Welp. This time something came with me from the dream.

I think I have a name for her. "Shade"?

This is the second time I've obtained an item for ritual use only to discover under blacklight that it is Secretly Shiny

I'm gonna take this as a good sign
