Heckin' heck. I'm gonna do a gamejam on Feb and just do an extremely basic twine because I'm not great at code. Someday, the dream would be to make some sort of story based dungeon crawler. That would like, actually be the dream but my brain with code is PFFFFFFT.
Basic code logic passes over me unless someone says, "Here is why it is the way it is." A few times.

Holiday moods
The holidays can be a trying time for many for whatever reason.
Seasons greetings include a fair amount of depression and other mental health problems.
Remember that you have people around you that care and remind those close to you that you care. As writers, artists, musicians and other creative minds; we should be a community. Much love.

Dilapidated ruins covered by strange fungus and growth is my fucking jimmy jam.
Vidya games. Bravely Default. Dumb industry.
Remember that time when Square Enix thought that everything needed multiplayer and they were convinced good single player RPG's wouldn't sell?
Remember when Bravely Default came out and they were fuckin' shocked that it did so well?
I sure do fucking remember and I also remember that I loved Bravely Default.
Characters that were each in their own way generic, but their interactions made up for that and the adventure was fun~
There were ghosts and demons haunting the Nemeton Monastery and we want to find out what is the source of all this malice.
We meet our side characters, a handsome rogue type by the name of, get this, Edward fucking Plunkett. Plunkett. Anyway...
Next is a very devout and yet mysteriously motivated priest by the name of Father James O' Flaherty. He's your typical, "God will guide us." Character who eventually comes to respect us and our powers.
Simple, but their interactions make up for it.
With that little bit of summary we can't really tell what is going on, so we're left to wonder what is going to happen and why Koudelka herself is here at the Nemeton Monastery. All we know is that there is super creepy shit goin' on here and that is the fucking beauty of it.
There weren't any RPG's at the time that had super spooky atmospheres and horror stories and mind you, I'm not saying it is the best, but it was unique and interesting.
Plot: You are Koudelka, a witch who is chased by the church and yet still finds it in herself to exorcise places full of suffering spirits. That is how we as the character find ourselves at the Nemeton Monastery.
Immediately you're put into this place full of dark corners and dilapidated halls that looks as if it hasn't been touched in years and yet there are people here, and so much more.
I resist this a lot coz I'm not a game review type, but I'm a writer gosh darnit so let's talk vidya game.
I fucking love the plot and atmosphere of Koudelka. It is a PS1 survival-horror RPG made by the same dude who would later on make the RPG series Shadow Hearts.
In this thread I want to talk about what I appreciated about the games story. The atmosphere, the characters, and etc.
I write stories. Fantasy is my main beat, but I do other things too. Most of all, I love monsters. Avatar art by WaterWindow
