Whenever I make characters for roleplay I tend to latch onto one or two key concepts to guide the process, like "plucky protector" or "golden retriever but as a lizardman," that kind of thing.

Anyway my latest character's core concept is just "tall bottom" and I am now deceased ​

I feel like the combat doesn't work the way it did back when I first played (3-5 years ago).
Am I remembering incorrectly or was tanking more about using different skills to get enmity back then, rather than just toggling "tank mode" and smacking away?
