Once-in-a-long-while reminder that I made an open source ASCII art, animation, and game creation tool called Playscii: http://vectorpoem.com/playscii
People have made some pretty cool stuff with it! http://playscii.tumblr.com
It's a dynamic, hackable thing written in Python so you can do all sorts of oddness with it.
ICYMI I made a game in 48 hours for this past Ludum Dare: https://triplefox.itch.io/zero-grace-megadrive #gameing
@jplebreton that exact thing has already happened to tamagotchis, so it's feasible!
there are a bunch of emulated tamagotchis that exist in a shared "tamagotchi matrix."
the virtual tamagotchis are even connected to the internet, and can be watched live: http://tamahive.spritesserver.nl/

Dump of the original Furby's assembly source code, dated June 1998: http://www.seanriddle.com/furbysource.pdf
Coolest thing I can think of to do with this would be to get it running in a virtual machine in some existing virtual space, eg an MMO, VR chat room, No Man's Sky etc. I love the idea of this thing's freaky digital soul living on in unrecognizably alien worlds.
