My eight black eyes have sprouted as well, my head and face re-shaping to accommodate the extra sight, my vision being increased and changing in the deep dark around us. I can see you well, now. "Can you see me?" I blink eight eyes and chitter again. Slowly my skin becomes chitinous. Slowly I take your hand.
