Oh cool, is it #introductions time?
I'm a vaguely trans, for-sure non-binary, very gay furry critter in the Seattle area.
The important parts of my life involve dabbling at various creative pursuits (design, crafting writing, etc), being a good toy for my owner, and learning how to talk and work with the spirits and gods of a highly-personal esoteric tradition.
My day-job involves helping people and computers get along together.
I love answering questions about any of the above, so ask away!
Seriously, how do people figure out how to take care of land; helping my parents weed never prepared me for this. >.<
Emotional labiilty
My afternoon:
* Putter around the house feeling aimless and cruddy
* Go for a walk, discover a secret way into the cool riverside abandoned lot down the road, much excitement and glee
* Come home, productively take measurements for the yard project, until enthusiasm tips over into an overwhelming feeling of helplessness about ever being able to do what I want with it.
* Spend the next hour or so crying, mostly.
What even does my brain thing it is doing.
I still dunno what she thinks about the Paganism thing; I only brought it up once really, around winter solstice 2015, and basically got an "Oh that's nice..."
Which is certainly much better than such things go sometimes! But I do, for instance, wonder what she's thinking is happnening now when I do agree to pray for folks, etc. ;)
Minor family negativity, gender
Still, that was an awful lot of emotional labor to have to do for a parent, especially given the very basic requests like "maybe could you not deadname my partner"
So I'm seeing some discussion about why Mastodon isn't necessarily taking off with certain minorities (let's be honest, they mean POCs while trying to dance around the term, this place is super White asides from the apparent Japan contingent).
Here's some thoughts:
1. The whole notion of "instances" is really unintuitive. When you Google "Mastodon", you get an instance like mastodon.social, but it's not immediately apparent that M.S isn't your only option or WHY you'd want a different instance
Alcohol
#fursonadrinkmeme ought to be easy for me, I literally designed a cocktail for that, years ago. But I don't have a pic of it right now.
Oh well, gives me something to do tonight. ;)
Maybe I'll start sharing daily* spiritwork/esoterica links!

This is a good article; I like how deeply it treats and considers 'chosen names' and it makes me realize I probably have bene doing a few things wrong, oops. ;)
*Frequency not guaranteed, probably more like "whenever I find something good, probably once a month or so because the esoteric-blogger world, is just as full of junk as the rest of the web." ;)
Heck it. 'Spiritworker-in-training'. If it raises questions, well, I like answering those sorts of questions. ^.^
Multi-reply and clarification: This wasn't a "Do I feel comfortable doing it" (I do!) so much as a "what words do I even use?"
Lotsa folks seem to use 'witch' but I'm... not that. :)
