She-ra; Abuse
My take about 6 episodes into She-Ra (with knowledge about the ending) regarding abusive relationships:
Catra and Adora were both raised under an abusive parental figure that took steps to take away any power or agency away from both of them at every opportunity.
Given this, I don't think their relationship (as of the ball episode) can be strictly classified as abusive within the frameworks of power dynamics, as Catra is lashing out at somebody for being able to reclaim her autonomy. Catra does not have power over Adora to abuse in the first place.
As such, it makes sense that Adora would accept forgiveness for the wrongs that Catra has done, and it doesn't come off to me as manipulative or coercive.

Vaguepost
Like, the site is currently unavailable due to a ddos attack, and the owner felt pressured to release a (very dishonest) statement.
If only for a week, nobody is having harmful personal information compiled for abusive purposes.

The best TO??? 🤔
Fighting games discourse
Events like CEO and EVO are defined by the open reg. They are about everyone starting at the same place and seeing who gets to the top.
They have *never* been about or organized around catering to a poorly defined group of people vaguely attributed as 'top players'. If you want such an event, invitationals exist. Money matches exist.
These kinds of stories often turn into a "Oh, this person is passionate about their identity being defined as X... HOW PATHETIC" and it's the wooooorst.
transmedicalism
Like, I'm reading a lot of this fiction as a trans allegory, and the whole idea of "You can't be X if you don't experience Y" REALLY reads as "You can't be trans unless you experience dysphoria".
TERF Rhetoric
I know it's rhetoric based on bigotry, therefore it has more use appealing to emotion than any rational discourse, but I still have no idea where this line even came from in the first place.
TERF Rhetoric
The phrase "You cannot identify out of oppression" confuses me, especially when it's contracted against "gender ideology". I have not seen anyone claim you can identify out of oppression, and that is not even a stated goal of any activist organizations.
Furthermore it implies a perspective on oppression that I have seen nobody take. It implies the belief that oppression is internal, and by changing parts of yourself, you can become free from oppression.
I've been plugging away at Rocksmith again recently, and I'm having fun slowly working out a single song (Black Horse & the Cherry Tree by KT Tunstall atm). Dunno if I'm "learning" guitar, but it's fun, and definitely giving me that sense of progression I so deeply crave, so that's reason enough to continue!
