thread on why people put content warnings on mastodon, for new users <3
(reposting from my old account)
okay so, in my early days on mastodon, I didn't understand why people were expected to put content warnings on politics
to me, it seemed like another example of a community trying to stay together while excusing people for views that completely exclude the members the community's most marginalized members, and an attempt to silence those members.
as I stayed on mastodon however, I realized that this, just wasnt the case

might as well try this again: can anyone recommend a good social blogging platform (besides tumblr)?

implied systemic transphobia, call for help
the doctor i received HRT from is facing sentencing today. she's been harassed and attacked just for providing adequate care to UK trans people. she's never once had a complaint from a patient, but other doctors and non-patients (namely terfs) have hounded her in to losing her medical licence. all just for giving people like me HRT.
