Polyamory is a committment

It's a lot more work than you think

It means honest and open communication

It means you better learn how to use a calendar

If you have a pre-existing partner, you will have to deal with their feelings too if they're new to it, and you may have to accept that they may not be with it... you may even have to choose between them and your new partner(s)

It won't fix your broken relationship

The hot bi babe is almost impossible to find and also won't fix your broken relationship

Swinging isn't the same as polyamory, swinging is no strings attached/fling stuff, if that's your thing that's fine but don't confuse it

NRE chasing is seriously dangerous and toxic behaviour, nip it in the bud in yourself and beware of NRE chasers

Wanting too many rules is a sign that person isn't really poly or has issues to get over

But most of all if you're curious don't be deterred, if you're determined you'll make it work

@iliana I appreciate withoutboats' more accusatory tone towards the subreddit. Steve's blog on this was lamenting and empathetic but boats really lights a fire under the community's collective ass. The subreddit really needs to clean house.

Hey. You don't have to be drowning in despair all the time. If you're seeing bad stuff on the timeline or on news sites and it is stressing you out, you can just walk away. Nobody has any right to tell you off for staying away when you need to.
