the goal with everything I do is to build ethical technology that works for everyone, which respects privacy and tries as hard as possible to provide deniability.
this causes me to have very strong opinions when I encounter bad design practices that potentially endanger users of the technology.
do better instead of yammering about how permanent foolproof deletion is impossible. that's the copout of people who don't care to even try to protect users where they can.
trust and safety issues are hard, but essential to solve as best as possible for users of the technology.

i had a nightmare last night that my desktop got infected by a malware bomb that added shit like CometCursor and desktop customization adware and there was so much of it it started overheating, and the EFI firmware was giving warnings about unsigned firmware images

Mostly I just hate how fucked up they all are for like a myriad of reasons that mostly consist of "humans are lazy to a fault and also Capitalism sucks"
But it concerns me how few people understand they're trusting their lives and safety to code that was usually written by someone who didn't know what they were doing.
really tempted to move my kotlin projects to maven because gradle is a ten ton hammer and subprojects with uniform dependency management are a very standard pattern in maven
