Yet more details of Steve Jobs being an absolutely terrible piece of shit have emerged from his daughter's autobiography and one thing that strikes me is that he really did have armies of enablers throughout his entire career.
Think about who you know who's like this and promise yourself now that you won't let them get ahead, that you'll elevate people who are kind instead. The "asshole genius" is a social hack that enables assholes, don't let it work on you.

i think these days when my computer does something extremely stupid or broken, the reason ALWAYS turns out to be "someone released an update that changes something for absolutely no reason other than to make stuff worse". i used to be the person in my family that fixed people's computers and shit. but now i can't, because the problem ain't ever fixable anymore!! i'm now the guy that goes round and tells people "sorry, you just can't do x anymore, and no, not even buying a new one will help"
