re: Screaming at furries for using slurs, framing a reference for those confused

@apow@snouts.online

In case you were wondering, most people shorten the word raccoon to a four letter word which is also a racist term for POC.

Yes, really. They even used it as a term for a certain set of songs.

So, I'm working on my Raspberry Pi setup more, and I have some push-buttons to use for turning them off safely.

Now I'm mounting them to the cases. Anything to reduce energy use and help the enviroment a little bit.

Thing is, I need a drill for that purpose..so I ordered one.

re: psa for lootcrate subscribers

@zoe Thanos trolling us in the real world too?!

In all seriousness, that was a very bad move. What was it made of, even?

What did ProJared do? I'm..very lost. And hungry.

@SuricrasiaOnline Would I trust a shark? Yes, I would, because I don't see how they could do any worse than other ISPs!

...Also the shark is a cutie, pass it on.

re: dns pol

@fennecbyte @xenon

What should we use instead? I get that the current DNS system sucks, but what's better?

@galacticstone People love to freak out over mysticism..now that's an idea...

@JulieSqveakaroo @Phorm

They did say that they worked with PayPal on it..I get the feeling that that's a load of lies.

USPol, why am I proven right?

I hate being proven right. Ugh. Not only that, both parties in Venezuela are just as monstrous, attacking peace protestors. Oh man...

USPol related, a little snarky

Because you're a commentator for a sport where people beat each other up until they get CTE. The right seems to like that kind of stuff.

So, ARM's deisgner being trans should point out that trans people always existed.

ARM being the future..not quite

A lot of the Linux community seems to have bought in to Linus saying that ARM is the future. Um..not quite.

A big stumbling block is that all software needs to be rebuilt for ARM. I doubt someone like Microsoft would do it without going EEE on it. It's part of the company's DNA, as far as I know.

That's not to say that ARM has no use whatsoever. For low power and cheap systems, like Nettops, and low power servers, it can work very well! (Raspberry Pis used for servers are proof of that.)

So, ARM still has a place, and a future. Will it take over X86? I don't think so. Will it replace it in certain areas? Certainly! I argue that's the point of ARM.

Not to mention that ARM was created by a transwoman..really! Look it up!

USPol, hmm..

Is it only me that has a feeling that the start of the US banning abortion outright is only because the US armed forces need more soldiers to fight?

In these times, it helps to be optimistic, but prepared for disaster.

re: Zombieload

@JulieSqveakaroo

There's a flaw in any Intel processor since at least 2011 that allows data to be leaked from side-channel attacks.

I have an X200 laptop, which has a Core 2 Duo on it, which was made in 2008 or around about that time.

In short, it's another error, along the lines of the Spectre and Meltdown debacle a year ago.

uspol

@jd They claim not to seek war with Iran..but that's rubbish!
