Hey, uh..anyone know what's going on around here? I've noticed some wires going missing and squeaking too, before hearing water splash about.

So, I'm working on my Raspberry Pi setup more, and I have some push-buttons to use for turning them off safely.

Now I'm mounting them to the cases. Anything to reduce energy use and help the enviroment a little bit.

Thing is, I need a drill for that purpose..so I ordered one.

What did ProJared do? I'm..very lost. And hungry.

USPol, why am I proven right?

I hate being proven right. Ugh. Not only that, both parties in Venezuela are just as monstrous, attacking peace protestors. Oh man...

USPol related, a little snarky

Because you're a commentator for a sport where people beat each other up until they get CTE. The right seems to like that kind of stuff.

So, ARM's deisgner being trans should point out that trans people always existed.

ARM being the future..not quite

A lot of the Linux community seems to have bought in to Linus saying that ARM is the future. Um..not quite.

A big stumbling block is that all software needs to be rebuilt for ARM. I doubt someone like Microsoft would do it without going EEE on it. It's part of the company's DNA, as far as I know.

That's not to say that ARM has no use whatsoever. For low power and cheap systems, like Nettops, and low power servers, it can work very well! (Raspberry Pis used for servers are proof of that.)

So, ARM still has a place, and a future. Will it take over X86? I don't think so. Will it replace it in certain areas? Certainly! I argue that's the point of ARM.

Not to mention that ARM was created by a transwoman..really! Look it up!

USPol, hmm..

Is it only me that has a feeling that the start of the US banning abortion outright is only because the US armed forces need more soldiers to fight?

In these times, it helps to be optimistic, but prepared for disaster.

On a slightly cheerier note, the final test of the microSD cards are:

3 passed
1 failed

I guess it could be worse.

Someone I know has a news addiction, and it's affecting my mental health. Any ideas?

On a different, yet still annoying note, out of the two microSDs tested so far:

1 passed
1 failed

I'm on the third one now. I get the feeling that some shops and ebay places are not good places to get them from...

Taking undeeded risks in uncertain times is a very good way to end up in trouble with no way out.

Zombieload, more laptop checking, whew...

A few others have asked me to take a look at their laptops too. A check seems to show that it's unlikely to be vlunerable.

That said, I still reccomend patching it to be safe. Even if it is unlikely, it's better to be certain.

It's never a bad idea to take a precaution in a situation like this. It might have been exploited by any number of alphabet soup agencies.

Zombieload checking

My laptop's CPU is a Core 2 Duo P6800, Penryn core. It seems like it was released in 2008, so I doubt it's affected.

That said, I'm still going to patch it, just to be on the safe side.

Zombieload

According to the website, it's likely that any intel processor from 2011 onwards is affected.

I'll verify my laptop, but my desktop is an AMD processor.

Well, I discovered a SD card that the printed capacity didn't match what was on it. So..I threw it out.

I'm testing the SD cards I'm using in order to verify them.

When isn't the news 50 levels of horrible?

Why is every year that can be divided by 3 so bad? What happened?
