I really need to get around to doing worldbuilding.

Problem is I don't know if I want my characters to exist in multiple distinct settings, or one giant encompassing one? Having my boy from a modern setting totes dating a girl from the scifi one. And many of my fantasy cahracters in modern stuff..... ah it's a mess and I'm too nervous to retcon or set stuff in stone.

@Draekos Both might work. There could be stories set in self-contained universes and others set in multiverses with mirror characters in each, like how Final Fantasy characters have representation in their own games and in Kingdom Hearts.
