So many of my friends are cute and I love seeing selfies of them and I wanna snuggle them and I hate that they can't see themselves as pretty.

@pillowcat @Draekos look I have real issues with parts of my body that I haven't shown to other people online that hinder my ability to feel fully authentically cute and positive platitudes can only do yea so much to help me from people who aren't physically familiar with all of me

@fluxom_alt @Draekos Same tho? Lewd as we are, yet we never post nudes? There's a reason for that.
But, while we can't shake those feelings... We can't help but wonder if those platitudes are actually more than that. Or if maybe they were just platitudes to start, but their consistent repetition on Mastodon caused them to genuinely change how people think.
They're just so oft repeated, and... they're genuinely what we believe about others.
But yeah, it's different trying to believe them about yourself...
