@Maiasma Whooooo wants to help me build a set this weekend? :D
Here's my loadout thoughts:
Girros Hammer II
Vespoid Helm A
Rathalos Mail A
Vespoid Vambraces A
Rathalos Greaves A
KO Charm
Opinion?
@PaulFerence I think you should also wear some waist armor
@PaulFerence and the Rathalos Mail should be B instead of A, but otherwise that seems like a good pre-Elder Dragon set!
@PaulFerence (a 4-piece Diablos set would also work well, if you don't mind hunting a lot of Diabloses)
@PaulFerence To answer your original question, I'll be very up for hunting tomorrow
@Maiasma I have a haircut appt at 1, but other than that, I'm clear on my day. And yeah, you're right on the Beta. The Waist armor is more of a BIS thing.
@PaulFerence something worth considering would be taking the Girros A waist and replacing the Vespoid A helm with either of the Rath Soul helms to buff your critical damage while keeping Paralysis Attack at 3
@Maiasma I haven't even seen a Rath Soul yet. I figured I'd keep it to monsters I'm currently encountering. :- b
@PaulFerence I think there's a decent chance you'll come across one while getting that Rathalos armor
@PaulFerence (apparently boosting crit chance without also boosting crit damage isn't particularly good, hence the helmet suggestion)
@PaulFerence oh, I don't know what you're wearing currently but it might be worthwhile to get a set of mid-tier HR armor if you aren't wearing HR armor already, because HR Rathaloses and Diabloses are nasty
@Maiasma Alright, my current gear is:
Malady's Fist 1
KO Charm 1 (Which I need to figure out how to unlock higher levels of)
Vitality Mantle
Kulu Headpiece B
Zorah Hide A
Vespoid Vambraces A
Girros Coil A
Bone Greaves A
@PaulFerence ok, yeah, we can hunt Rathalos/Diablos. Upgrading the KO Charm will probably require killing a certain Elder Dragon (not being coy, that's what I had to do to upgrade my evade charm but I don't know for certain)
@Maiasma Haircut is from 1 to 2, so I am flexible.
@PaulFerence I'll probably be off and on throughout the day
@PaulFerence you can pre-order a chair, what a world
they both look nice, although I have a mild allergic reaction to anything advertised towards "gamers"
@Maiasma I would say an anaphylactic reaction is more appropriate, but yeah. I'm leaning towards the Herman Miller because of it.
@PaulFerence unrelated, there are passive charms you can buy in monster hunter from the provisioner that buff attack and defense. They're expensive though
@Maiasma Oh, I may have to do that then. Better to use something than nothing in those slots.
@PaulFerence to be clear, they aren't decorations or, uh, Charms. They just sit in your inventory and boost your stats
@Maiasma Okay, so when I grab them, I can pick up less stuff. Got it.
@PaulFerence I "love" how this game has Gems (the monster items), Decorations (that look like gems), Charms (the necklaces), and then other passive items (called charms)
@PaulFerence yeah, I have time. Roughly when though?
