I'm still confused my the federated system. I wish there was a way for my account to be on multiple federations so I didn't have to have multiple accounts.
@ZiaMacPine For the most part, you don't need multiple accounts! The major difference is what is on the local timeline, which is only picking posts from that instance. You can follow anyone else on any instance* and their feed will show up in your public timeline. That instance's public local feed will then start to show up in your instance's Federated feed*.
*(except awoo is unique in that it deliberately limits federation to a manual process)
Awoo.space is a Mastodon instance where members can rely on a team of moderators to help resolve conflict, and limits federation with other instances using a specific access list to minimize abuse.
