American Politics-- Ken Paxton

I'm not a Texan so I haven't commented on this story much but it is important to note how long this ongoing event has been. He was being investigated for some pretty blatant corruption before getting reelected for a third term.
I would claim I was surprised he was getting an impeachment considering the truncated and artificially short legislative period (and there is an entire derisive snort I'd have to that too) but that assumes he will feel consequences there.
To reiterate: the Attounrey General of Texas has been threatened with disbarment, he is under investigation by the federal Justice Department for potential bribe taking, he fired whistle blowers who then sued him and he demanded the Texas legislature apportion funds to pay the settlement and it isn't like voters weren't aware of this nonsense.
re: American Politics-- Ken Paxton
I think one of my nagging and unproven thoughts here is that if you honestly believe all government is corrupt or doesn't have value then you're going to be happy to excuse some very blatant abuses of power for your "side" though this is not based on any firm datapoints.
