Birdsite gives me the ability to mute accounts that don't follow, and find that I no longer wish to hear from. It also gives me the ability to block those that I absolutely do not want to see or hear their thoughts over and over again, for whatever reason.
Unfortunately, it does not stop other folks from documenting and posting pics or vids or whatevers of said individual's thoughts and atrocities, and there is unfortunately nothing I can do to restrict that beyond muting those I do follow or unfollowing them for all the wrong reasons...
I can't really blame that on birdsite, though... that would need to be one hell of a complex algorythm for a script to understand that there are specific folks that I don't want to see any hint of existence out of...
It's more that I really dislike the online (and offline) culture that has formed that has to constantly showcase the worst of humanity. It's become more like a newsstand tabloid feed that constantly screams out 'you won't believe the new low that person X has stooped to, now!', and then the train of commentary, the defenses, the debates and arguments, like every other minute on too many topics to grok, and I just want it all to stop because that's not the reason I ever wanted to be social or stay in contact with folks in the first place, but there's not really any sane way to avoid it, because this dystopian feed is absolutely everywhere...
I never wanted this.
I can't breathe in this.
I can't think in this, and all I want to do is crawl back into bed and cry.
I can't believe that this was the point or intention, but it's what discourse has become, and I can't handle it without being crushed, some days... today is one of those days.

@JulieSqveakaroo *hugs tightly* I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry.
