didn't realize snouts.online blocked me but oh boy, that's pretty disappointing, huh? how can you claim to be a safe space from harassment for marginalized folks when you're not even willing to stand up to a site dedicated to destroying the vulnerable?
how can you make that claim when you won't even try to find out what actually happened from the person you have an issue with ?
admins should openly converse about issues, not fearfully retreat at a threat. disappointing

I only even say this shit as someone who adamantly did my best to run a safe discord server for my group. we had hundreds of people in it and my top fucking priority was trying to make people feel like they could express themselves and make mistakes without fear of being Forever Awful.
compassion was key. paying attention to a whole situation, not making rash emotional judgments.
you GOTTA work hard to be an admin that vulnerable people NEED

when you have vulnerable people in your care, it should be your TOP PRIORITY to make sure that any action you take on anyone is one you can stand by completely. what kind of message are you sending if you get rid of someone who works hard to be better every single day, who has a rough past, who has a trail of stalkers who revel in destruction?
it's the lazy solution that really signals that you'd throw anyone under the bus if it were convenient; it makes people feel unsafe

it's so disappointing. if you're an admin, you need to actually look into the reality of a situation and not just kinda coast on whatever a mob is feeding you.
doing the latter is THE way to get completely fucking overrun by people who let fearful and hateful emotions clog their minds and cloud their judgment; you CANNOT cultivate a safe atmosphere if you cave in and make easy decisions and ignore the difficult conversations in pursuit of the right thing.
