dream
I lived in a big city on the west coast that doesn't correspond to any city that actually exists. the person I dreamed I was "remembered" from a previous dream that the kaiju that was currently destroying Japan would head across the Pacific and hit our city next, and I remembered enough about how the attack happened that I was able to convince my housemates/family to evacuate early, to a safe-ish location basically in the next valley over, protected by a hill-line.
dream
I was able to convince one friend (who maybe also dream-remembered this), and we drove to the far side of the valley and found a place where we could get a good view (through binoculars) of the event.
the kaiju arrived on time and set about destroying the city. there was a riot at the pass from people trying to flee last-minute, and we watched cars wreck trying to speed down the narrow switchback road on the valley side.
dream
meanwhile, the city was being thoroughly trashed, and we were getting constant minor earthquakes from the romping around. as a finale, the big rock/hill to one side of the pass was ripped up and thrown back into the city, before stomping back into the Pacific. a helicopter pilot was watching the kaiju, but he was too close; we tried to signal him to go lower, but the kaiju spotted him and smashed him out of the sky with a well-aimed car.
dream
a bunch of other people had come over there to evacuate as well, and there were refugee services set up, but they didn't hold many people; a few hours after we came over the pass from the city was closed. we tried to settle in, find a place to sleep and looked for jobs (because dream). I made a few friends.
the next day, the kaiju attacked the city. I dream-remembered that the refugee area wasn't entirely safe, but couldn't convince my family/housemates to go any farther.
