dream
a bunch of other people had come over there to evacuate as well, and there were refugee services set up, but they didn't hold many people; a few hours after we came over the pass from the city was closed. we tried to settle in, find a place to sleep and looked for jobs (because dream). I made a few friends.
the next day, the kaiju attacked the city. I dream-remembered that the refugee area wasn't entirely safe, but couldn't convince my family/housemates to go any farther.
dream
meanwhile, the city was being thoroughly trashed, and we were getting constant minor earthquakes from the romping around. as a finale, the big rock/hill to one side of the pass was ripped up and thrown back into the city, before stomping back into the Pacific. a helicopter pilot was watching the kaiju, but he was too close; we tried to signal him to go lower, but the kaiju spotted him and smashed him out of the sky with a well-aimed car.
dream
I was able to convince one friend (who maybe also dream-remembered this), and we drove to the far side of the valley and found a place where we could get a good view (through binoculars) of the event.
the kaiju arrived on time and set about destroying the city. there was a riot at the pass from people trying to flee last-minute, and we watched cars wreck trying to speed down the narrow switchback road on the valley side.
