for some reason I've always assumed that "One Direction" is a "christian rock" band, but this morning I realized it might be based on a "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" quote, and if it is it's *seriously* badass and I suddenly have a lot more respect for them, but I'm reluctant to look it up in case I'm wrong (and they really are an Xtian rock band).

@green Well, you got me curious. I didn't *think* they were a Christian band and they're not, but it also doesn't mean anything cool like that.
Apparently they all auditioned as solo acts on X Factor and one of the judges got them to form a band instead because they weren't good enough on their own.
And Styles came up with the name because they had to go in one direction to win. Though another site claims he also "thought about what would sound good when the X-Factor man aid it." But the first explanation is the most common.
...I feel I have now paid more than enough attention to this band for forever. XD

@zephasaurus_hex well dang. XD the R&GaD quote is... lemme see if I can find it, it's pretty awesome:

the whole quote is better, but that's the relevant bit.
