Oh lovely. The VP for my old team, which I left because they gave zero shits about design as a discipline (and have continued to do so to the point where the person who joined after me left too) just emailed me saying “Hey we need UX help, do you no anyone who's looking."
I say no, and think (but do not say) how much I would not recommend that team to any designers in the first place. I point him to the core design team, which is how that stuff is supposed to work.

He comes back and says “Yeah we tried that, they’re slow, do you have any cycles yourself.”
Can you FUCKING IMAGINE someone asking for developer help that way.
“Hello programmer who’s not on our team, please come over and do work for us anyway.”
Gee I wonder if they're doing any better these days about how they look at design as a discipline.
